What do the different values in the game over display mean?The score display is shown when the game ends. It has the following fields:
- Current score: final score of the game you just played
- Previous best score: your best score this far excluding the game you just played
- Ratio: percentage of this score / previous best. If your high score is 10000 and you got 9900, the ratio is 99%. If your high score is 10 and you got 20, the ratio is 200%. The main purpose of ratio is to irritate players, who almost got a new high score.
- Rank: your ranking amongst all players. 40 / 1000 means 1000 registered users have played the game and your current score was 40th best. Your actual ranking may be higher - the rank displayed is based on the final score of the game you just played and you may have existing higher score. Refer to the high scores for your actual rank.
- Status: the status of the score submission process. "Score submitted" will be shown here as soon as confirmation is received from the server.
What is considered cheating?Any attempt to use an automated means to play gasgames is considered cheating, and your score will be deleted as a result. There are certain exploits in some games, and if you can find them, they are okay to exploit for the time being, but don't expect those exploits to be valid forever, and don't complain if one day they vanish.
Basically said, anything other than you with your hand on your keyboard and/or mouse playing the game is cheating.
Also, another user may not under any circumstances allow another user access to their account in order for them to play gasgames for you. This will also result in your score and the score of the other party to be deleted.
What if I end up with final score worse than my current saved score?Your best result always prevails.
How are the total high scores calculated?The total high score is the aggregated amount of worse players in all the games. For example, if 100 players have played a certain game and you are 10th best, there are 90 worse players. Hence, you will get 90 total points from that game. This calculation is done to all the games and added up.
Only the best results of registered players are included. The total high scores are calculated daily, every night at 06:00 GMT +2.
How do I play game x? I don't understand something in game y!Apart from the small text passage displayed below each game, we do not provide any help. You'll have to figure out the game logic yourself. Feel free to discuss the games at the GasGames Forum.
I made a new high score but it was not saved!Alas, sometimes that could happen, most often because of temporarily lost network connection. We do not edit scores manually even if screenshots are provided, mainly because it is arduous to do and secondarily because it is quite easy to fake screenshots.
How long does it take to implement a new game?The smaller games are usually created in 2-4 hours. The more complex and better looking games, such as Character Disorder, take a longer time.
Where do the ideas come from?Usually the ideas originate from words that sound nice.
There is just a blank space where the game is supposed to be!You need the Flash Player to play the games. Also, an outdated browser may cause this. We recommend Mozilla. (Remember that the browser must be installed first and the Flash plugin after that.)
I found a bug or an exploit in the game!Please tell Gasmaster about it.
